Deeper Revelations: Almost No One Was Taught This in Sunday School
Have you ever wondered if there is something deeper behind the bread and the wine than what you were taught in Sunday school?
Many of us grew up in what we might call the "Church Age"—a season of learning the literal letters of the Law and the foundational stories of the Bible. But the Holy Spirit is currently shifting the Body of Christ into "Kingdom Age" realities. Jesus hinted at this when He told His disciples, "There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now" (John 16:12 NLT).
We are now in a season where we can bear it. We are moving beyond the literal surface to the spiritual substance. Today, we’re diving into the deeper revelation of Communion and how it functions as a practical gateway into Divine Union.
This short teaching is Part 2 (read Part 1 here) about Divine Union/Oneness and stems from a recent deep-dive conversation with my friend Daniel from Divine Align.
The Science of Oneness: Eating the Bread of Life
In Matthew 26:26 (NLT), Jesus took bread, broke it, and said, "Take this and eat it; for this is My Body." Think about the physical process of eating. When you consume food, you chew it, digest it, and your body assimilates those nutrients at a cellular level. Those nutrients literally become part of your physical structure. You and the food become one. Cool huh?
Well, Jesus used this physical parallel to point toward a spiritual mystery. In John 6:35 (AMP), He declares, "I Am The Bread of Life." When we "eat" of Him—spiritually digesting His words, His Presence, and His nature—we aren't just remembering the historical event that changed the world forever. We are participating in a spiritual assimilation of His Life!
Kingdom Truth: Communion is the physical demonstration of your spiritual reality: Christ in you, and you in Him.
The Mystery of the Blood: One Life, One Record
The most offensive message Jesus ever preached was inJohn 6:53 (NKJV)"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” This sounded like heresy to the religious mind because they could only see through a literal, carnal lens.
But consider this deeper picture: The "One Cup":
One Blood, One Body: Jesus didn't give everyone their own separate wine skin or cup at the Lord’s supper; they shared one cup. Many of us may have simply passed over this detail (I know I did!) This signifies that there is only One Blood flowing through the entire Body of Christ. You carry the same spiritual DNA as your brothers and sisters.
The Record in the Wine: Wine is the "record" of the grape. A sommelier can taste a wine and tell you the year, the region, and whether the grape went through a drought or a flood. The grape's history is infused into the wine.
A Sommelier (pronounced Suh-mel-YAY) is a trained, knowledgeable wine professional, usually employed in fine dining, specializing in all aspects of wine service, storage, and food pairing).
Your DNA has Changed: Because you carry the "blood" of Jesus in your spiritual veins, you carry His record. His death, His burial, His resurrection, and His ascension are now part of your history. You are no longer a "sinner saved by grace"; you are a completelyNEW Creation carrying the DNA of the Firstborn from the dead; Jesus Christ! We read this clearly here in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (TPT) “Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new person. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new.” Hallelujah!!
Want to Experience the "Secret Place?"
If this talk of "oneness" and "spiritual DNA" feels like a lot to process, the best way to understand it is through experience. The Bible says to "Taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:8 NLT).
My 30-page premium e-book, A Beginner’s Guide for Christian Meditation, walks you through the mechanics of Christian meditation as taught by the Holy Spirit. If you want to move from "believing" to "knowing" God in the secret place of your own heart, this guide is for you.

Awakening from the "Wilderness" Mentality
In the Old Testament, the Israelites ate Manna in the desert. In Hebrew, the word Manna literally means "What is it?" They were eating the "food of angels" but they didn't fully comprehend what it was. Today, many in the church are looking at these deeper revelations, such as Divine Union and asking, "What is it?" They are stuck in a "wilderness" mentality, feeling separate from God.
But Paul the Apostle had a different revelation. He said in Colossians 1:21 NKJV that we were only "alienated and enemies in our minds." The separation was never a reality on God's side; it was a veil over our perception.
Like a fish in the ocean, you are swimming in God. He is above all, through all, and in all (Ephesians 4:6 NKJV). You don't need to "travel" to find Him; you simply need to become aware of where you already are.
A Heart Posture of Delight
Transitioning from the Church Age to the Kingdom Age requires a renewed mind. The Pharisees missed Jesus because they could only perceive through labels and laws, with a carnal mind and not a spiritual one.
We are a part of His Body, but we are not apart from Him. Did you catch the different there? A part versus apart. So we are a part of God, but we're not apart from Him! Wow! The ego mind, the fallen self that perceives we're separate might begin to think to self, “I am God”. And then it thinks it can claim God's status as an individual egoic identity. But not so! Although Jesus once quoted the Psalms 82:6 (NKJV), saying to the Pharisees, "Know ye not that you are gods?" He was speaking from the perspective of what he had already done from before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8 NLT). Yes, because of who He Is and what they did (in crucifying Him), they rejected Him. We are God’s offspring, so even in the most basic level of understanding, indeed we are gods. In the sense that we are children of the Most High God.
Optimize Your Meditation with Science
To help you bridge the gap between your busy mind and your spirit man, I often use science-based soundwaves. These frequencies help transition the brain from the "Beta" state (active/stressed) into the "Theta" state (meditative, dreamy & receptive), making it much easier to supernaturally enter into the presence of God during your quiet time.

To enter into these deeper things, we must move into a posture of delight. Don't approach God out of religious duty. Approach Him with the joy of one who loves Him & delights hanging out with Him. You can sing in the spirit, meditate on His goodness, and trust that He is a Good Father who will never lead you astray, especially when you hear mysterious revelations that you may not have heard before, such as oneness and divine union. This advice is in alignment with Scripture:
"If a son asks for an egg, will his father give him a scorpion?" (Luke 11:12 NLT).
If you ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into the "deep things of God," He will not let you be deceived. He will lead you into the Truth. Oh how absolutely trustworthy is our God!
So now, step away and get into the Scriptures. Look up the verses shared here and just talk to God about it. That's prayer. Also, meditate on it because as you begin to meditate with that heart wanting to understand, the Holy Spirit will open it up to you.
